Nick Young played for the University of Southern California in 2004-2007 and earned a spot in the ‘All-PAC first team’ in the 2005-06 seasons and 2006-07 seasons. During the NCAA Tournament in 2007, Young led the fifth-seeded Trojans to Sweet Sixteen, but the team lost to one-seeded North Carolina(74–64). Young led USC and won against Arkansas in the first round. In the second round, Young led the team against Texas Longhorns with 22 points in an 87-68 victory. At the time, the Longhorns team featured National Player of the Year, Kevin Durant (although Durant led both teams in scoring with 30 points).

Coming to the end of his college life, Young announced that he would choose his coming years to be a professional player and he got an opportunity to play with the Washington Wizards NBA team.

Professional Career

Young was selected 16th by the Washington Wizards in the 2007 NBA Draft. He started his first game against the Sacramento Kings in the same year. He was fined $10,000 for participating in the incident where Gilbert Arena brought guns into the Wizard’s locker room. But he was seen pointing his fingers toward his team.

In 2012, Young was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers and helped the team clinch their first playoff berth. He was a key part of the Clippers’ victory against the Memphis Grizzlies
